At last I get to look at Donald Trunip and have a laugh. Here it is for the 1% of the world population that hasn't seen this yet, and today seems like a good day to post it laugh.gif

Today marks America's second "Day of Infamy".

Today will go down in history as we witness the events resulting in a completely crass, pig-ignorant,
mysogenistic bully rise to be the most powerful person in the Western Hemisphere.

That "rise" has the net effect of plunging the World as of today into what Churchill once called
"A new Dark Age" and America into the disUnited States to the complete embarrassment and
humiliation of every decent soul between its borders.

That there was no one with the courage to revoke nor revile him as a contender for the Presidency
speaks volumes, my question is, how can trump make America great again when nobody is up
to growing a pair enough to remove him?

Yep, we are living the history.
How can decent Americans possibly reconcile their collective cowardice enough so that future
generations may understand their inaction?
john.mcn
He won the election, get over it. The voters in the USA will get their chance to remove him at the next election.

What a day in Washington D.C., thumbup.gif

So many people taking part in the march
it is now impossible to march and it is
at a standstill , I am hearing numbers like
I/2 a million people taking part , absolutely
remarkable and it could be more , the police
are saying that there are to many people and it is
not a safe situation.
People have travelled from one end of the country
to the next to take part .... also all over , there
are marches going on in other cities across the states
and as we know just about all over the world , more or less.
A day indeed for the History books thumbup.gif thumbup.gif .

Trumps' cards have been trumped
umpteen times , he just refuses
to recognize that .
I'm thinking that he is showing the

I think he is a very insecure man who thinks only of himself, e.g. he is concerned only about the number of people who watched his inauguration rather than the state of the nation of which he is now the head.

Trump! How did this happen?

Brendan O'Neill
It happened because you banned super-size sodas. And smoking in parks. And offensive ideas on campus. Because you branded people who oppose gay marriage ‘homophobic’, and people unsure about immigration ‘racist’.

Because you treated owning a gun and never having eaten quinoa as signifiers of fascism. Because you thought correcting people’s attitudes was more important than finding them jobs. Because you turned ‘white man’ from a description into an insult. Because you used slurs like ‘denier’ and ‘dangerous’ against anyone who doesn’t share your eco-pieties.

Because you treated dissent as hate speech and criticism of Obama as extremism. Because you talked more about gender-neutral toilets than about home repossessions. Because you beatified Caitlyn Jenner. Because you policed people’s language, rubbished their parenting skills, took the piss out of their beliefs.

Because you cried when someone mocked the Koran but laughed when they mocked the Bible. Because you said criticising Islam is Islamophobia. Because you kept telling people, ‘You can’t think that, you can’t say that, you can’t do that.’

Because you turned politics from something done by and for people to something done to them, for their own good. Because you treated people like trash. And people don’t like being treated like trash. Trump happened because of you.

The Canadian government has said that as long as
immigrants / new Canadians , carrying a Canadian passport
they will be able to travel without troublefrom the American

Post Teresa May's recent visit to Washington (to meet with the Orange Lout),
you'll probably never hear of any question asked of the British P.M. that would be along the lines of ;

"How did he grab you?" wacko.gif

Anyway,
it was on one U.S. Talk Show today where a publishing political scientist asserted;
"that this is the first American Presidency that is toddler-based."
and
"That the incumbent advertises his own arrogance to the world by constant use of daily tweets."

They, the Electoral College, elected him, not the general populace but all Americans
are going to have to endure their embarrassment for the next four years (minus about 10 days or so).

Dugald
ExPow, I'm a bit puzzled with regard to your following expression:"To meet with the orange lout".

I assume you are speaking about Donald Trump, but I wonder why you have called him an "orange lout". Oh yes, a lout maybe, but why an orange one? I'd be obliged if you would enlighten me about your use of "orange"?

Cheers, Dugald.

I wouldn't be so sure Angel. There was an incident of a Canadian citizen of Syrian heritage being lured to a business deal i Florida and promptly arrested and transported to Syria where he tortured for a year or so for alleged terrorist connections. It took the gov't awhile but they got him back. I wish I could remember his name,

Mayer Herar was the Canadian Citizen detained by US Customs Officials and deported to Syria to face detention and torture.

It appears that "The Orange Lout" decides to pick on someone or some other country almost as a daily whim. Typical bullying tactics or at least a supreme example of complete personal insecurity.
I do so hope that HMQE11 refuses any future requests for audience despite her P.M.'s embarrassing acquiescence.

Ask any Brit what one of the alternate meanings of the verb: to trump

Thank you Ron and ExPOW for your information. I read and watch the news regularly here in Ontario and I have never seen "orange" used in this sense. The only comments I have seen regarding Trump's appearance was with regard to his hair.
Cheers, dugald.
ExPOW
The term 'orange' has appeared many times in describing that arrogant, ignorant despotic buffoon 'though not in mainstream news items.

Programs like SNL and others (22 Minutes too?) like latenight talkshows are among the list of 'usual suspects' where those hosts are openly critical on an almost daily regularity.

Who knows ! if trump is given enough rope
just maybe he will hang himself .

ExPOW
Each day reveals how arrogant trump becomes.

Highlevel judges are demeaned, their reputations sullied and one particular poor sod has his very career threatened to be destroyed because he refused to uphold trump's order to ban certain immigrants. He has attacked the entire US Legal System openly and publicly.

trump has no clue that he is also subject to the US Constitution and that he should behave accordingly.

He has instead become a senseless bull in a china shop, raging and rampaging over whomever he hates and things he does not agree with. He fires off Executive Orders at the same rate any other normal person might otherwise pass wind after a night on curry and beer.

Resistance to trump is growing daily in America. Media is becoming more and more vocal over their displeasure with trump but trump will then discredit any question put to him by media that he does not like then disqualifies that interviewer from further participation in those media circuses.

Disgraceful.

The jutting chin, the braggadoccio, the wild gesticulating and the pouting and tirades all remind me of another onetime tyrant who ultimately wound up hanging inverted in a public square.

Impeachment will happen. yes.gif

Was watching "The View" today wherein it was stated that; "if you lose your media reporting, you've lost your country".

By trying (ineffectually) to silence the media, the bloated oaf has merely poked a very unhappy dog with a very big stick.

Late Night talk shows with people like Trevor Noah (MM link below) and the abovementioned are vehemently vocal about their growing hatred of their commander-in-chief.

The public session yesterday with Benjamin Netanyahu showed trump in all his ignorance, lack of posture, demeanour, grace and oratorio that it became a contest to judge if BN was as embarrassed as the rest of america. Blabbering on to BN about how trump managed 320 collegiate votes, the poor dumbfounded Israeli Prime Minister could only stand agog at trump's blustering.

Meanwhile, trump's administration is coming apart like a pair of cheap russian cardboard shoes.
General Flynn didn't last as long as the carton of cream in my fridge.
Kellyann Conway has been gagged. Puzder has pulled out as nominee for Labour Secretary over scandal over hiring undocumented labour.
Press Spokesman Sean Spicer was ridiculed yesterday in the media for his inability to accurately vocalise prepared printed text reports. He invents words, utters gaffs and commits many reports to pure gibberish.
Conway and Spicer are rumoured to not get along.
Surprise surprise.
DailyMailUK

Banning controversial and topical questions from "Fake News" reporters, trump will now only entertain questions from pre-briefed and non-threatening media reporters.
So you can bet that Mark Mazetti of the NewYork Times will be amongst those discredited as fake newsers after his scathing attack on trump last night.
Interview with MM

When trump stated that; "NATO is obsolete", it must have given vlad and his thugs a huge blast of titillating air up all of their skirts.
By saying that alone gave "Aid and Comfort to the enemy" and could be taken as treasonable in and of itself.

The ongoing war between US Security (FBI, CIA et al) and trump over his dealings, collusions and attempts to cover up russian interference in the recent elections will probably end in impeachment. Let's hope so.
It wouldn't be an altogether surprise to discover that trump was the most successful mole ever to be implanted by the kgb.

Finally, a comment today observed that there are not enough honest men in the senate that will
stand up to trump (but resentment is growing) among the republican party and that, after all, they brought trump upon themselves.

Tick tick donny.

Is Trump Mentally Ill .

ooooooooooooooooooopps I wasn't able to edit this sad.gif

Today's TV Critics state that trump's personal 'daily briefing' before the 'fake news press' was ultimately a "trainwreck".

trump began by reading from a prepared text then rapidly diverged into his typical uninformed unbalanced 'style', ordering the press to be quiet and accepting only, as he said; 'a good question' about his wife and her business. So having lost it, he retired to try and regroup his incoherent thoughts using that single-celled brain of his. An undignified retreat indeed.

A reselected candidate for State Security (Vice Admiral Robt Harward) said; "If I can't bring in my own team in, forget it."
Meanwhile trump states that his administration is; "running like a well-oiled machine".

I wonder how much %-proof was in that lubricant to make him and it so well-oiled.

The safety, survival and security of the entire world depends on how this bombastic retard reacts
to any situation. Threatening to blow a russian sniffer-ship out of the water off the US Coast is an open article of aggression that will probably persuade vlad and his thugs to bring their knees rapidly together and readjust their collective hemlines.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the issuance of other trump Executive Orders goes on apace, like a casino blackjack dealer on amphetamines, many of them undoing Obama's humane efforts to improve living conditions of the poor and other minorities (and so taking america back to their own Dark Ages).

"I inherited a mess", trump blusters today not aware of the difference between inherited and creating.

How much of trump's cr@p is the world going to take?

It all defies description.

Mentally ill does not even begin to describe it. excl.gif

Those people who chuck out the Nazi/Hitler and Stalin type accusations towards... well anyone who dares question immigration policy should really read History and more importantly understand it and the suffering of those affected by the previous dictatorial regimes, they might then think twice about belittling those victims deaths by comparing them to people like Trump.

BTW didn't Bill Clinton give a state of the Union address when he was in power saying roughly what Trump says about illegal immigrants now, and didn't his wife back the building of a barrier(wall and fence) and removal of illegals not that long ago.

In my opinion Trump is a buffoon, but he's only there because the democrats fielded an absolute shite candidate.

Ohh and one thing I agree with Trump on is Nato, those members who are freeloading off the protection of those who contribute 2% of GDP as per the rules, do need to up their defence spending or leave it. I see that the EU's Tusk is not to happy about it though
angel

Does Canada really need NATO

http://www.cgai.ca/is_nato_necessary_for_Canada

angel
If such an analysis says strongly that we still need NATO to protect our national interests, I will be content. But Canadians and their government must ask the question for the first time since Prime Minister Trudeau raised it at the end of the 1960s. Then, the answer was that NATO remained necessary – but not so much so that the Canadian commitment could not be cut by half. Today, the answer might be that NATO has served its purpose well in the past but is now no longer needed as we head into a new world with its very different challenges. It is time to raise the question for consideration.
angel

The above post #196 is in fact
part of post #195 .
john.mcn

Well as Canada spends less than 1/2 what it's supposed to on defense maybe the question should be, does NATO need Canada. America provides the umbrella and its neighbours all want to be undercover, I can see why some Americans are pee'd off.
DannyH
All this talk by Trump regarding the wall btween the US and Mexico,
reminded me of the US Marine Corps hymn.

It starts;

From the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli
We fight our countries battles
In the air, or land or sea, etc.

The Halls of Montezuma refers to a battle between the US and Mexico in 1847.
The US Marines stormed a castle in Mexico.

So will there be a repeat during 2017, some 170 years on?

The Shores of Tripoli refers to a battle during the First Barbary War in 1805.

It seems that this anthem keeps either getting updated or unofficial additions are made.

For example, reference to "In the air" was added after the first use of aircraft.

An example of unofficial additions, is one made in 1941 when US Marines took over from British forces in Iceland. This was, "The Iceland girls were slim and fair"

I think Donald Trump might ask for that to be made an official addition.

Apparently the melody was taken from an opera. Nothing is sacred.
