I remember the first time I was ever in The Blythswood when as an 18 year old, we were in for a few beers before catching the train for a game at Hampden. I then had a "Tardis" moment when I went to the gents, did the business then returned and discovered I was in a totally different pub !
I had only consumed about 3 pints so I knew I was not having an alcohol related delusional moment so I carefully backtracked the way I came, through the toilet getting strange looks as I had just left it, and noticed another door in the corner. I left through that door and there I was back on familiar territory again. It was only then I realised that both The Blythswood and its sister pub around the corner, The Toby Jug, shared the same common gents toilet. I got slagged rotten when I told my pals. Bizarrely, the current Blythswood is now called The Toby Jug with the old Toby in Waterloo Street having undergone many name changes recently from The Montrose to Downtown and now Grahamston.
