Hi Georgia, just something you said there I couldn't quite understand.

"I don't dislike anyone and I honestly fail to see how any member can dislike another one if they haven't met them personally."

I think that the written word can be far more hurtful in many cases thus the reason for being even more respectful on the boards. Just a thought. smile.gif The written word is lasting and there for all to see. The spoken word is over in a second or two and can be forgotten quicker I think, just an observation. Nice to see you.

I dont think you have to meet someone to form an opinion of whether you like or dislike them. I,m talking life in general, not just the boards. Gut instinct is what I always go by, and this can be got by reading about someone, and the way they perform Respect I always give to those whom I think merit it. And that I believe is my perogative. You can learn a lot about people by reading of their attitudes and actions

I see where you are coming from betty, you are right, you can learn a lot about people by reading of their attitudes and actions. I too get a gut instinct and feel I can analyse whether I would trust someone to be my friend or not by what they write and how they react and perform but it wouldn't make me dislike them just because our personalities clashed.

I always show respect, if I don't get it back then I move on.

If we can debate/agree/disagree or criticise each others points on the boards without becoming personal then we have a happy board smile.gif ...as catherine says.....just my opinion biggrin.gif

As individuals , we all have different views . There may be people i meet for the first time i might feel a bit wary of , but i wouldn't go out of my way to be rude to them or ignorant . But then for all i know they might not like me , that's the way life is . Manners as my wee gran used to say cost nothing , treat people as you would like to be treated . And there will be subjects on the boards where we will have to agree to disagree , if we all had the same opinion it would make for a boring read . laugh.gif
