You never ,ever tell us where u go Melody. What sort of buildings are you interested in.
As you kno I love doors.....every year I have one special building that amazes me.Last year it was the STV studio, this year I think it might be the new BBC.Next year
am pretty sure it will be the brand new media centre on Broomloan Rd...a think a lot of people are gonna be a bit gobsmacked when they see this finished building....you are gonna love it or really hate it.
Other places am interested in this year are Capitol on Sauchiehall St.the Barony Hall and locally the Coach House in Belmont Lane.....have a few more planned if I get up in time

Oh Ross a lady has to keep a wee bit of mystique ye know.

Last year I went to the Mosque and Garnethill Synagogue and the Panopticon. The BBC will be well worth a visit as for the rest ah'm too excited to decide here maybe the Greek Orthodox Church. I love all the old building in Glasgow and spend my time trying to look upwards in town no wonder ah'm always trippin' up.

Nice to see you on the boards.

Some cool places Melody.....was in the Mosque a few years ago....was sorta confused about it.I loved the Synagogue in Garnethill....man security was amazing..we all got frisked by Mossad agents....lol. The building inside was beautiful and the guy who took us around was awsome he told us about how far Jewish history went back in Glasgow and amazing stories about Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. It was about 5 yrs ago but I remember it really well.Never been in the Greek Church am ashamed to say and I live bout 2 minutes away from it.
Its cool that you want to keep up the mystery, makes you sorta exotic.....have a great weekend next weekend....its good we promote it.The doors open started in Glasgow in the UK and in todays papers a huge article about Londons Doors ...its become huge in the UK and it was another Glasgow original and people wonder why we are so proud of this city.

Ah Ross we'll keep reminding them about how wonderful it is.

I'm laughing at you talking about the security in the Synagogue. I must say I absolutely loved it, not the security the atmosphere

and the information was fascinating. Your right it was a brilliant idea and has caught on everywhere. We always want that weekend to be a week long. Enjoy.

We should try to arrange next year's big meet around the same time as Open Doors. Not the same weekend obviously but either the week before or after. How about that?

Wow Ross, what an unusual interior for the BBC building. What are the open areas used for?

Basically break out area's for staff and guests....I guess the newsrooms are high pressure areas and these allow people to move away from the recording studio's into relaxing area's. It was designed to represent Glasgow, the grey metal and concrete represents the girders that produced ships on the river and the breakout area's are red sandstone to represent the buildings of Glasgow,
I really ,really liked it.The building is pretty classy inside and has great views along the river.
