Good morning people , hoping that you are having a nice day .

Hi Jakka , I heard on the news this morning that in
Bobcaygeon ,they had a rough time with the weather yesterday
and I was thinking about you and wondering if your Hydro was down ,
I mention this because , I think that your cottage is somewhere in that
region , Fenelon Falls or close enough as the crow flies . biggrin.gif
we did'nt get much of that weather here in the Falls , just
thunder and some lightening and a bit of rain but I did manage
to get the the annuals planted .
Hope all is going well with you and Al. ,no medical problems to worry
you . Cheers smile.gif .... Pat
jakka13
Well ,what can I say .Since we came up on May10th we've had massive hail ,Freezing rain ,ice pellets and snow .Severe thunderstorms and yesterday a tornado went through .We didn't have too much damage ,a lot of big branches down but nothing more severe than that .My grandson was planning to bring my new Great grand daughter over but it's just been too wild for a new born baby visit .Maybe if things settle down we will see her next week .Born May 11th and named Adrianna . wub.gif

Ive just been ripped off.
I wa looking for something to do this weekend, and thought about comig to Glasgow.
I noticed tickets for sale for Neil Diamond & kenny Rodgers on the renfrew ferry. so i bought a ticket. I was flabber gasted to notice the ticket was not for Neil Diamond but a bloody tribute act.
When i phoned up to complain i was told.
"Are ye daft man, de ye think we could afford to book the real Neil Diamond!" biggrin.gif
so i'm going to see pat cairns sings Neil Diamond & kenny Rodgers. sad.gif on saturday on the ferry.
CAT
laugh.gif laugh.gif Soo funny. Bet you have a great night. Were supposed to have a bit of sunshine so you should have a ball, ther's nowhere to beat Glasgow in the sunshine.

So why do they call it a ferry, if it dosen't move?
Ive just seen a youtube video of mr.cairns perform. I Don't think i'll bother. ohmy.gif
Purplefan
What can i say about last night, other than awesome!!.
I was not impressed with Thunder, or Journey, felt they were just going through
the motions. In fact at one stage through their set, they got booed.
Whitesnake however made up for it.
ive seen whitesnake since 1980, and i have to say last night was amazing.
from still of the night, to the fans favourite ain't no love, David put in one of his best performances.
The whole pla e was bouncing. Even if David is getting on a bit, he ain't past his sell by date.
great night. If Journey don't want to do this tour, then they should just pull out.
worst Journey performance ever.
CAT
Glad you had a good time Purple now you've got Neil Diamond to look forward to laugh.gif
Purplefan
ive decided not to go to see Neil Diamond, i'm just going to enjoy a day in Glasgow.
LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING POSSIL.

your photos reminds me of one of the times my late husband and I
had rented a holiday home at Tullichewan holiday park
just down from the village of Balloch

we had a lovely time walking all over that whole area
and taking walks into Luss and carrying munchies for the horses
as we walked along that road , it was lovely and with
the train station only minutes walking time , we could visit Glasgow
and of couse Dumbarton where we had lived ever since we had married .
Even getting to Helenburgh was easy , get off the train in Dalreoch and
get the train into Helenburgh, a place I am very fond of .
I just love that Hardware store . biggrin.gif
Such sweet memories . Would you believe it was March and the
weather was fine .

O" , shut up Pat , you are giving yourself notions . unsure.gif

I also lived in Dumbarton years ago (Williamson Ave).
A nice walk by the Leven to Balloch.
---------------------------------------

I did'nt know "Williamson Ave " David but I did walk
by it , taking my son to school every day and going shopping in the
high st. with the baby in the pram,
I was there last year , a perfect example on how a town can be
ruined .

I had read some time ago " I think it was in the " Lennox Herald "
about the state of the Leven , being used as a dump ,
everything from an needle to an Anchor , fridges , sinks
car engines , old furniture , truly criminal , some people just
don't give a damn .
I wonder if it has been cleaned up , it was at one time a very
good river for catching Salmon .
Purplefan
Today, i'm decorating my bedroom. Been putting it off for weeks.
magnolia ceiling, duck egg blue walls. Got my new bed delivered.
It has one of them memory matresses. very comfy.

Today I am going to a luncheon for one of the aqua fit gals. She is going to be 69, but unfortunately as she wont be here for her 70th it was decided to give her the big celebration now. There will be about 40 of us.I just hope she is ok with it .
Jakka I agree the weather has been nice but not normal temp. for this time of the year. Later this week it will be hot so I dont want to hear you complain.
I hope you foot has improved and you are finding it easier to get around.
Now before lunch I am going to clean out the fridge. BOOOhooo rolleyes.gif

True. I was very dissapointed with the barras. Its just cheap fags and tat.
I Could spend all day down there, listening to the patter of the salesmen.
working till 8pm today. sad.gif
CAT
Very busy weekend to be honest glad to get to work. Had alovely chat with my mate Kat in florida till the wee small hours Friday night took all day Saturday to recover. Up early Monday for my sister inlaws radiotherapy. I got a chance too cook some yummy food yesterday so it's off to the gym for me tonight.
I konow what you mean about the barras Purple we used to go there every sunday for a wee wander now it's once in a blue moon and we are always disapointed but we still do it I guess we're hoping things will change.
Purplefan
The decline has been left to fester like a scab growing on a wound for years. IT needs some money putting into it,
and the fag men kicked out. The barrars are a Glasgow land mark, we wont miss it till it is gone.
Like paddys market. The barras are like brick lane, in London, it is connected to the community and is part funed by the local council. The barras should be the same. If it is left to rot, then it will become a
cheap fag place only.
angel
The one and only time I was in the Barra's was to buy an extra suitcase
that we needed for our move to Canada .
The case was just fine but I really never cared for the Barra's

Oh I just remembered that we did go there one Sunday afternoon
while on a visit , but we did get a good fish supper in a little
restaurant near Glasgow cross .

it's been raining here very heavily most of the day , rather miserable ,
so I just took the day off from my usual chores and got caught
up on some of my reading . cheers , smile.gif Pat
Elma
I'm glad someone else wasn't keen on the barras, Angel, I was there once and couldn't get out of the place fast enough. I was most uncomfortable there with the people and the smell. This was in the 50s and have never been back. When I did the 'bus tour last time I was back the driver only pointed out the barras but didn't stop there.
angel

I have been in other markets in England , Scotland and Spain
plus a few other's Elma , and thought that they were pretty good
I remember a market we went too in Kent , I think pretty close
to Canterbury , I remember buying , what I thought was the most beautiful Candlewick bedspread , it was white , I loved it and the guy who sold it to me , kept calling me ' mother" biggrin.gif ,honestly he was older than I
laugh.gif anyway , it was a terrific time .

Tam C
Hi all well thats me packed and ready for the off to Greece ,easy packing as most of my stuff is down there all I need these days is a clean change of money ,Catch the night train to Copenhagen then plane at 6am Athens 10am local time easy peasy Cheers Tam C
