Hi new to this...found it by chance google.....lol....I was born in Glasgow 1966 if memory is right Drumchaple and then moved to Pollock when i was 7... Then on to Toronto Canada when i was 9 ......I have been doing some Ancestry online all very interesting stuff...most i know My mum has a great memory...lol...thank goodness. I have quite a few memories myself just hard to put some together....Before we left Glasgow we stayed in a place called Forest Hall 1974...we were homeless because my father was abusive big time.....I remember the place we were there only a cpl months when my Grandparents who were in Canada already sent tickets for us to come to Canada....The only thing i can find is a Forest Hall that is refered to as a old folks home..or a poor house that would fit we were very poor......Can this be the place? Not sure if anyone can help.....

Hi brit,

I think that Foresthall, Balornock, would have been the place where you stayed. The 'home and hospital' has been discussed quite a few times on the boards, mainly under its address, 657 Edgefauld Rd, and also under 'Barnhill Poor House'. it former name.

Please see the topics here, which may be of interest:
