My name is Bobby Thomson and I used to go skating at the Paisley ice rink. Had lots of friends
who skated with me one was Tommy Hughes who lived at 79 Laidlaw street also the Noble girls
would come along. Was back in Glasgow 2008 the Laidlaw street where we lived was gone. Hope this brings back some good memories. Bob

I never skated at Paisley but I used to go with my Dad to watch the Paisley Pirates play hockey there in the late 40s early 50s.

Yes Bob, they are doing well!

I've only been in Kimberley for 16 years so I was too old to start skiing or boarding when we came here but I do enjoy living in the mountains although it is cold and we have lots of snow. Kimberley is the highest by elevation in BC, only Banff, Alberta is higher in Canada.

Didn't realize you were in BC Bob. We came in 1967 as a family, my husband and I and our three children, lived first in Burnaby, 10th Avenue at McBride, built our first house in Port Coquitlam, moved to Vancouver then back to PoCo until in 1995 we came here to Kimberley, following our daughter. I've spent this evening putting up my Christmas tree and decorations, I haven't done outside lights as there is work being done on my road and my front yard is all dug up, think I'll give them a miss this year! It will give my son-in-law and/or grandson a rest anyway tongue.gif

Paisley, wheres that?

I used to frequent Crossmaloof on Friday nights. I fell for my first wifie there literally, right full square on my erse. Apparently, due to puppy eye syndrome she felt sorry fur me and picked me up.

Never fails tongue.gif
