A small rural town in Spain twins with a similar town in Greece.

The Greek Mayor visits the Spanish Town and, when he sees the palatial mansion of the Spanish Mayor, wonders how he could afford it.

The Spaniard says: “You see that bridge over there ? The European Union gave us a grant to build a four-lane bridge. By building a single lane bridge with traffic lights at either end this house could be built.

The following year the Spaniard visits the Greek Town and is amazed at the Mayor’s house with its gold taps and marble floors. When he asks how this could be afforded, the Greek says: “You see that bridge over there ?”

The Spaniard replies: “No !”
