I would appreciate some help with Maryhill history. In the period 1940-1945, what churches would have been located near the 700 block of Maryhill Road?

Murdo,
Hi..... for Maryhill Road take a look at www.mitchelllibrary.org and select Maryhill Road under Streets and also the Church section.

My Wife was born at Fernie Street on 1933, I was born at Northpark Street 1930, I remember Jaconellis at Queen's Cross, we moved to Bilsland Drive on 1936, the searchlight and AA gun in Ruchill park, besides the church at Queen's Cross ( designed by Rennie Mackintosh) there was a church on Ruchill St, I don't remember the name, we had a three bedroom house on the ground floor, and the people who lived above us used to come down whenever there was an air raid, I can still remember us all sitting in the long lobby drinking cocoa, I think people who were born in Glasgow are the luckiest people on this Planet, especially MARYHILL, all the best Agnes & Robert Mackay.
