My father (tam booth) was a joiner in JOHN BROWNS SHIPYARD he was on the QE2 and went to the bahamas on the sea trials fitting out the first class cabins etc . He came home with so much back pay he felt and looked very rich. He had 3-4 £100.00 notes never been seen before, he had also
purchased a gold charm QE2 for mums charm bracelet .but best of all he had pictures galore of the ship the island the staff and his buddies.
the problem- the pictures have been lost ...... so the appeal is "is there any one out there with QE2 sea trials memories and or pictures . hope to hear soon.cheers

Ooops'....sorry kenb....tried to put on a video of the sea trials....I typed in QE 2 sea trials, but forgot how to transfer it over...would be interesting if you find out more info...I went down to see her when she made her first visit to Los Angeles, and I might add that I worked in shipbuilding and repair most of my working life.

Don't have any photos of the sea trials but I do have a group of photos I took at the QE2 launching! I was an apprentice Shipwright at the time & happened to be at Anniesland College the day of the launching so the teacher gave the whole class the day off to attend. I was across the other side of the river & got some great shots of her as the went into the water & the tug boats took control of her. If I can ever figure out how to put the photos onto this site I will.

What a great ship! I was at the launching & have a great series of photo's including the "fly-past" when the Queen officially named her.

Hi, I was an apprentice Shipwright (Ships Carpenter) in the Scottish Lion, Ship Repairs & Engineering. I will try & get my daughter to help with the photos as I am not the best with the computer & I also find this site very, very hard to gain access to!!
