As election photos go, it's a lovely snap: apparently showing the leader-in-waiting of the United Kingdom taking a stroll around Glasgow North East with the Conservative party candidate for the upcoming by-election for the in area. A confident Ruth Davidson "joins David Cameron on his recent visit to Glasgow North East" the election material reads, as they both stroll purposefully forward to meet the constituency's electorate.
The only problem is that the budding Tory MP for the constituency vacated by former Westminster Speaker, Michael Martin, and her party leader, are about four miles off course! Glasgow Guide can exclusively reveal that the photograph was actually taken in Queen Street in Glasgow city centre.

Interesting. I was disappointed in tonights BBC1 Scotland news regarding the Glasgow North East by-election this evening. Said very little other than about expenses.
I said it somewhere else but the Ruth Davidson person comes across much more capable than the other candidates in the interviews that I have seen. She has no chance in Springburn though.
If the SNP were smart and could have got Ruth Davidson to jump ship they would have stood a better chance. The Kerr bloke was 4th choice for the SNP - makes you wonder on the state of the SNP in that they could not come up with a better candidate. No doubt Kerr will be looking forward to beating himself up when Bain wins as expected.
If Oor Willie does gets in I'll be expecting him to follow through with his promise for instant jail for carrying a knive - contrary to the Scottish Government'd decision to do away with custodial sentences under 6 months in duration. He'll almost double the prison population. That'll mean rapid building of 3 or 4 new prisons or deportation to Arran and could cost £150-200m per annum at £32k a head. I'm sure Willie Bain will be able to pull this off and the problem will be solved - but I would not hold my breath...
Liked the genuine appeal from Louise McDaid of the Socialist Labour Party, who mentioned the bankers bailout on the day RBS got £34bn more from the Westminster government... after that Willie Bain had the cheek to say that the Scottish government is ripping of Glasgow! Also, the BBC might have got the correct type of microphone for Kevin McVey.

Pumps 100, they cannot expose those CORRUPT,THIEVING,PIECES OF GARBAGE enough, what they were doing to the British Taxpayer was tantamount, they swore on an oath to Queen and Country, they are as guilty as any thief and should be put behind bars, the sad thing about that scum is, that they believe that they are above the law, I have never seen Britain at It's lowest, although we live over here we have Dual Citizenship, also my Grandchildren have it, even though they were born over here, I still call Britain my Country and always will.
Billy MacAllister, SNP Councilor for Milton was in the NoW opposing Labour selling their dilapidated Public Hall. The building has been in this state for over a generation and just about symbolises Labour,s lack of vision, misrule and gross neglect for the whole area. No wonder wee Willie chooses to live and work in London, beside Barren Lord Martin of Springburn and Port Glasgow. Springburn is a mess and would take massive regeneration to even make a dent in the situation - and that is never going to happen from these Londoners.
It is interesting to read folks views on the political scene in Scotland. I have recently moved back to Scotland after about 43 years, and 30 of those years were spent living and working in England. So I have a bit of catching up to do, I have noticed that Scottish people are much more interested and switched on politically. Since returning to my homeland I have become interested in the SNP, and I know I have a bit of reading up to do and I shall keep informed as much as possible by reading this forum and reading the newspapers. I don't have a telly. I am in favour of Independence for Scotland. In my opinion, we need to steer well clear from the Labour party and and that awful Tory candidate , David Cameron with his fascist, power mad policies.
Thanks for the photo, will pass this on. Is it genuine?
Yes Guest, the photo is actually 'live' on Ruth's website just now and embedded on this page. I believe that Ms Davidson and Mr Cameron did visit GNE together, it's just that they weren't there when this photo was taken - the pavements are too clean!

I'm assuming you are referring to David Cameron - not the capable and rather lovely Ruth Davidson (the candidate for Glasgow North East)? I think she is an excellent candidate (albeit with the wrong party). She stands out a mile from the rest of the dross.
