Had to post this because for me it represents how Glasgow is changing.Last night saw the start of Glasgow Radiance 2007......A weekend when Glasgow illuminates certain aspects of the city...its a winter festival of lights.Man it was cold last night, about -2 and believe me it was cold.I met my mum and dad and one of my brothers in town for something to eat opted for Spanish and it was a mix of tapas and an awsome paella..... and then we walked up to Glasgow Cathedral...the show was awsome...amazing music and displays...felt like I was in Paris.Have pictures of my own but a m8 sent me these today and they dwarf anything I have.We came back down through the Merchant City to look at the displays and then went up to Rotten Row and it was totally mind blowing..We were well cold when we reached the Square so my dad bought us a drink before we jumped on the underground home.....awsome Friday in this amazing city...am going back on Sunday with few m8's to have a better look.....my old man sorta rushes you around everyplace

Lol Elma a use awseome all the time....my mum goes mental sometimes when am using it.What is the original version and how is it different from how I use it.
This weekend was awsome.....haha,fixed up a ski ing trip to Austria and found a really cheap weekend in Amsterdam for £87 in December.....these are my christmas presents ,man am so looking forward to them both.....my mum and dad brought me up to travel the world and I love doing stuff like this.....will give up anything to pay for a trip abroad....am like on no beers for the next 3 weeks..
This weekend was Radiance in Glasgow and am going back into town tonight for few hours...I was awed by it especially at the Cathedral. This is Glasgow this weekend....I don't really like the Square much its way too cluttered and it bothers my simple lines approach to everything but am not the architect so I accept what others feel is right ..........grrrr I hate it...

Thanks for the great pix Ross: I can indeed confirm it was very cold on Friday night, especially between 5pm and 7pm, when there was very little cloud cover. I can also agree that the Radiance Festival 2007 delivered some stunning sights and am pleased to say I was all round the town with my camera, but was short of memory cards, so had to stop earlier than I might have otherwise. I've not got my memory card reader here, so can't post any pix just now, but will do soon.

The favourite photo I took was in fact not really part of the festival of light at all, but is a testament to it, because I was waiting for traffic to move at Glasgow Cross when - inspired by the light shows - I saw a huge (bus) breakdown truck come along and had the chance to take one shot and got it luckily (you'll see what I mean).

More tomorrow...

GG.

Am looking forward to seeing your pictures as well Martin...I thought the weekend was awsome....was back in tonight but aw man I had a massive nose bleed in town and got covered in blood...my g/friend was like totally scared by it and she had to call my mum to come and pick us up...a looked like I had gone a few rounds with a heavy weight...it happens to me sometimes ,always have really bad headaches then it bursts but was the first time she had seen it.....think I scared her a bit lol.
The cathedral was awsome and I loved the music...baroque then jazzy and before my nose burst we went over to the gardens behind Provands Lorship, the display there was amazing.
If you get a chance cold you look at my query about posting stuff...my main frame pc is totally useless now...it comes up in red all the time and won t let me post or access pictures......gave me a message about an earlier media player being deleted but I had to update the media player when I was setting up a new mp3 so I don't know if I have knocked something out.
