A couple of adverts for your bank holiday amusement...

1. The ReeTone American TV advert for the shoes in question:

2. An alternative look at sexist TV advertising aimed at women:

the glasgow board seem to have high morals regarding everything EXCEPT CORRUPTION strange that one isn't it???

"regarding everything EXCEPT CORRUPTION" Not quite billyr.

Just like members of Glasgow City Council are giving the trainers advert the bum's rush, you post in something positive about Christianity and you'll see where any high morals stop as far as the majority of GG members are concerned. (double dare you lol) You'll get the bum's rush if you do. laugh.gif

Now chill out out folks, take it on the chin like I had to. biggrin.gif

I hope you have a municipal election coming up soon 'cause it seems like a few councillors need the bums rush right out of their current positions. That means however that if you live in glesga and agree they have to go, you better get your feet in those running shoes and consider going after one of those seats yourself. If you don't feel your up for the job yourself, look around for a likely good candidate and start grooming and supporting her or him for the job. Make sure you know what they stand for BEFORE they get elected.

The way I heard it: Legs start at the feet then work their way up to the hips before they make an ass of themselves.

Hell, if they started making our woman cover up with all kinds of heavy outdoor wear what would be the use of getting up in the morning?
I'm against any kind of ban, it would affect my human rights.

Well spotted – and photographed – droschke! How can a barely noticeable word ("bum") on a taxi advert compare to that outdoor advert in terms of 'distractability'?

I noticed this snippet in the Herald this week, in an unrelated story:

QUOTE
Gilbert Davidson, chairman of the licensing committee which oversaw an absurd decision last week to ban an advert showing a pair of legs, has been demoted,

Regarding the advert, Mr Gilbert had concluded:

QUOTE
"The committee considers each advert on its own merits and, if necessary, takes a democratic vote on whether it should be approved.

On this occasion, the majority view was that some of the text - and also the image, which showed a pair of bare legs from just below the backside - were not appropriate."

GG.
