I was 12 in 1972 when I start secondary at St Gregory's, (Cranhill) Because I had a bad leg I was unable so do any contact sports so my PE techers, My Kerr and My Lindsay gave me extry swimming lessons. (10 in all) So while my 'classmate', (There's a reason for the inverted commas), where having normal lessons I was in the pool learning to swim. I also did after hours swimming and My Linday would get into the pool with me to teach me, it took me months but I eventually got there. My PE teachers where really good to me. I eventually had my leg amputated in 1978.
