It's next May, as in, May of next year. The circus has left town, and now...

Despite encompassing the best part of a decade and even Brexit, this debate has never persuaded a majority of us to leave the UK, nevermind reaching Nicola's 60% legitimacy threshold. On both sides, for some it has become a fight to the death.

If the SNP government was to now shelve this obsession and really prioritise other more pressing issues in this window of opportunity before next May's election, then I could respect that, but I don't anticipate it. If Sturgeon's administration was to put as much energy into promoting, let's say, climate change or community cohesion or anything besides winning Indyref, then I'm sure her legacy of achievements in power could be many and varied. If for once in her premiership she would govern for the people not the party and call a long overdue truce on the constitution, then she'd be the current leader Scotland needs.

What happened to "and now for something completely different"? rolleyes.gif

Your constant attempts to try and turn this thread into a climate change diversion has become a dead parrot, now why don't you just do a silly walk to the proper thread that Danny started. wink.gif

I write 150 words, and you pick out just those two. unsure.gif

That is but one in a long queue of issues currently behind independence at the door of Bute House.

I would imagine that Australia's government and its priorities are under more scrutiny now, Wombat, after the disastrous Summer your beautiful land has suffered?

If Bellacaledonia can make climate change part of the independence debate, then so can I.

There appears to be a dichotomy at the heart of the Yes marriage. The Greens and groups such as Bella are frustrated by SNP climate policy and are fundamentally opposed to it, but their symbiotic allegiances leave them playing second fiddle to independence.

The pace of climate change is frightening, and it surely must now take precedence in every parliament around the globe. Politicians have to put the planet's future before their own careers.

Jagz, how could I ever deter your lifelong campaign on this topic, haven't I tried that already? All I've done over the past few weeks is replicate the real world by changing the climate of the debate. There's nothing but your own conscience to hamper you from making any old argument you wish to.

Then why don't you comment on the Bellacaledonia site, or even Danny's GG climate change thread?

I'll post this just to get us back on topic, last year Standard Life, a strong Anti Scottish independence opponent moved £17 bn to Ireland so it could still trade in the EU, this company who threatened to move out of Scotland if we voted yes is just another example of all the things we were threatened with if we voted YES happening after a NO vote.

I'll be kind to you, and say that despite your repeated denials reports about climate change are just as relevant to Scotland's future (maybe not yours) as reports about pension and retirement.
