Hi all
this book might be of interest to any of you who like the nostalgic tales of Glasgow life. It's a real life story of a boy growing up in post-war Garngad after is dad was killed in the war. it is funny and heart rendering in equal measure.

Have just come across this for the first time - 5 years down the line! Is there anywhere I might get a copy of this book? I cannot seem to access www.boyfromthegarngad.com

I really enjoyed reading that article and identifying with some of it. Our first wee single end was in Forrestfield St,a whole street of red buildings,16 families up each close, and all single ends. They called it "Lovers lane",with a big population of kids. On clear day we could see Bothwell from our window, and at night it was like fairyland with all the lights in the distance. We went to sleep every night with the clanging banging of the steel works,a comforting noise to drift off to.That article certainly took away 58 years in an instant.
