Love the photos stuarty, what a good looking family, your Mammy's communion photo is excellent.
Being as am from other side of the water was unlikely would have known your family.
No doubt rubbed shoulders at the Locarno or Green's Playhouse dancing. Everyone went there from the city. Awe, the big bands on a friday night at the Playhouse.Fond memories. laugh.gif

Hi Stuarty I believe since they came from around the Garscube Road Area the Fountain could be in Phoenix Park, across from the Normal School .Cheers Flim

I was born and brought up in Cedar Place and Although I don't recoginise any of the faces I love the holy communion dress. My Aumtie had a similar photo and it looked as though her ma had made the vail out of net curtains for the window.
I am currently writing an autobiogrphy and would love to hear any old tales of Cedar place , Lilac Place , westbury st. etc.

Hi I was brought up in Lilac place and went to St Columba's school I remember the lamp lighters at the top of Lilac Place as well as the back of St Georges Road Fire Station,I have a lot of good memores there going round all the middens for bottles and luck's,I also remember the rag and bone man would come into the street and shout who likes candy,Alex Martin
