As far as I know Gemmell Street was in Bridgeton, but I'm not sure if it is still there.

James Street, Mile-End, was renamed Gemmell Street, SE in the 1920s or 30s, I think. Does this help?

Hi

I lived on Gemmel Street from 1951-1954... the Protestant side of the Street and the side with the lamp post. It was an awesome street. The picture of the Scramble is of my family when we lived there.
