Can anyone in Baillieston help me find a painting of Jake Kilrain the Scottish Boxer. My grandfather John McVey painted a portrait of the boxer and it was given to a relative of Jakes in the early sixties. I found out that the painting used to hang in one of Baillieston's oldest pubs but when I contacted the pub they said that the painting had been given back to the family when the pub was modernised. If anyone out there knows were the painting is I would appreciate a photograph of the portrait as my aunt is writing a story and would love to include a picture of the portrait.

Ann, I live in the Baillieston area.
If you can tell me the name of the Pub, I can go in and ask them if the family still live in the area.

Hi Heather
It's the Thistle Bar. I did phone the pub about a month ago and they thought the picture was still there so I phoned back the next day and that's when they told me that they thought it had been returned to the family. Would appreciate it if you were able to pop in and ask if there was any further news on I it. My aunt would love to have a photo of it.
