Irrie I was thinking about it and it could be one reason that folk in Partick lived in owner occupied properties and as such they were properly maintained.As someone brought up in Garscube Road I think every one rented their house thereabouts and I know for certain that maintenence was not high on the factors list of priorities.

Good point Jupiter. There is something at the back of my mind of my uncle talking of compulsory purchase orders for White Street. If my memory is correct they were obviously stopped. Maybe someone from that area will know more.
