Underwhelmed also!!

What is the first one about.... doesnt even look like Glasgow but looks like Stonehenge or something. And the horizontal one looks like an advert for some kind of carnival or something. Must do better.... miles better!! smile.gif

The first one was taken at an inflatable Stonehenge that visited Glasgow Green a while back Scotsman..

I know what you mean about the carnival one.

Eager to politicise the city's latest slogan, Sir Alex Ferguson was yesterday named the winner of the first People Make Glasgow Award. Probably much to do with the way he pops up at election time to deliver some sage proclamations about how fantastic Labour is for the city of Glasgow. Here's a wee example of Alex's wise words: in this instance, talking about the great plans of the subsequently elusive Willie Bain prior to the Glasgow North East by-election in 2009:

QUOTE
"Willie understands what needs to be done. Willie's Action Plan for Glasgow focuses on people's real concerns and priorities.

His determination to crack down on crime and fight to improve chances for local people is spot on, and has my whole-hearted support.

Glasgow doesn't always get its fair share, so I know the value of having someone able to stop the city being ripped off [by the SNP].

I always tell young players that being a footballer is the best job in the world. Yes, it's hard work to reach the top, but it's nothing to bringing up a family or running a household on a tight budget."

Well done to Alex.

I like Sir Alex and he is a very high profile Glaswegian and better deserving than some so I am not that bothered that he got the award. Its good to see an older person getting it also. But I do think he should think twice about getting involved in politics.... is he going to be used come the independence referendum next year??

The brand on a taxi in Trongate. Personally, I think these images show how weak and insignificant the brand looks when seen on its own. As for the colour!

Ooooh! A hot pink girly taxi! Just the image needed for a strong, hard working, industrial town.

You can't miss the colour but it rather blinds you to the message. What branding?

Another inspired siting of the 'People Make Glasgow' brand. Plenty of space for graffiti too!
