The Wake were a 1980's indie band from Glasgow who were originally signed up to factory records and sounded much like joy Division. They later signed to Sarah records and lost the Joy Division sound. They got back together in late 2010 to do one gig

Camera Obscura are another band from Glasgow who were formed in 1996 by Traceyanne Campbell who writes all their material and is the lead singer. They have only made four albums to date and should have more recognition. the band is still going and they might one day get their well earned recognition.

Fingerprintz were a Scottish band that was formed in London in 1979. two member of the band Jimmy O'neil and Chu burns would go onto form the Silencers in 1986 after Fingerprintz broke up.

Wet Job is another by Fingerprintz about the Bulgarian Georgi Markov who was killed by a poison dart filled with ricin and fired from an umbrella in London in 1978.

Here's Dubstar doing a brilliant version of the classic 1981 song I'm in love with a German film star by the Passions. Ony a voice like Sarah Blackwoods could be suitable for this as it woulld be difficult to make a good cover for this song. This version was recorded in 2010 for a charity event. If you lookk close at Sarah you will see that this is not a picture but it is actually her sitting perfectly still, you will see an ocassional movement in the eyes
