We had a car for many years and we always belted up, long before it became the law. It was my husbands first instructions when we got in the car.
I remember one day when I was driving into town I did not feel right and pulled into the side to figure out what was wrong, it then dawned on me I did not have the seat belt on.

Same again for 2011:
QUOTE
Greedy bosses at First Bus, the primary provider of bus services in the greater Glasgow area, last week announced that the private company will not be providing the public with a bus service on Christmas or New Year's Day. The shock decision has been roundly condemned by passenger and community groups throughout the city, who claim that the elderly, poor and sick will be hit hardest as they struggle at short notice to find alternative transport to visit friends and relatives.

A pensioner travelling across the city to a relative's house for Christmas dinner will have to fork out up to 40 for a taxi fare, where previously (except last year) they could have used the free bus service they have contributed to all their lives.

Lothian Buses in Edinburgh will be running a special hourly service on seven different routes on Christmas Day and 16 on New Year's Day.

Last year, FirstGroup, which runs bus services in Glasgow made a net profit of 147.1 million.

Damned Scrooges are at it again, and people can't understand why some people find it necessary to drink and drive (it isn't). Why is it that they can run busses in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee etc but not in Glasgow? Even in the "Central Scotland Area" there will be a bus service on Christmas day (All be it limited). First Bus Glasgow have compounded the problem by saying the Holiday Period is from the 23rd of December and normal services will not resume untill the 7th of January. Only in Glasgow.

I do feel sorry for those who have to work on Christmas Day, but there are others who have no option.

Our son and niece are Nurse's and have to take their turn to work Christmas Day. Both had to do it Christmas Day last year.

First Bus are obviously making too much profit when they can take the buses off the road for two whole days. That is a bad decision for this time of year.

I think this will this mean more accidents with drunk drivers than usual over the Christmas and New Year period.

thanks to first bus not running, when I was out on Christmas day I had to use my Mobile phone to call a cab. A junky a-hole saw my phone, said to me "nice phone" "I'm havin' that" and grabbed my phone. I now have a broken walking stick because I hit the a-hole 5 times that hard that my stick broke. When the Police turned up they said they had the guy but that he had claimed that I had tried to steal his phoine. The Police couldn't do anything about it, it was his word against mine, despite the CCTV Camera on the corner of Crow road and Dumbarton road. I'm sure I hurt him and I got my phone back. I've since had to go to hospital twice and my metal walking stick is broken, but I got my phone back. This might seem off topic but, if First Bus had been running I would have got a bus instead of having to try and phone a Cab. Almost forgot Merry Christmas everyone.
