Yes Zascot, I agree with what you’ve said. Over the years and currently, I am also involved in other discussion boards, none have ended up the way this one has.

Oh yes, I am so loving my Safaris they are just so awesome!

Must admit I was wondering, at the end of the year, will the number of births over the average be higher or lower than the number of divorces over the average tongue.gif

I see the independence thread has been suspended for a virus that according to some is not a problem so why suspend the thread.

I assume you're referring to my last reply to you, but i never said the independence thread had been "suspended" Zascot.

Not the whole country " thing" but the majority.

Perhaps you can post your evidence for that claim in the independence thread?

So now you have to produce evidence to form an opinion? Confirms my opinion of what is wrong with this board. I do not even read the independence thread any more as I have not found anything on it that I find in the least interesting. If I need to read childish squabbling there are plenty around. End of discussion.

I don't think i was being unreasonable for asking what you were basing your opinion on Zascot, it is a discussion board after all.

There certainly is, good example.

So people allegedly acting like children in a discussion board is more important than the debacle thats going on with the UK governments mismanagement of the whole Covid-19 issue?

Still, if i lived almost seven thousand miles away i probably wouldn't give a hoot either. 😉

The above confirms my opinion of the state of this board.I did not once on this discussion mention the covid virus but get accused of not giving a hoot by someone who does not think it's a major problem anyway.

In view of recent accusations of employing such , I think we need a definition of what constitutes " gutter language", as there is clearly some difference of opinion. Could we please have your thoughts on the unaccepability of such terminology, quoting, if possible, examples? For instance, does "---" or "----" qualify, where the reader must puzzle out the word implied before being offended?

I never said that you had mentioned "the covid virus", although it is strange that you haven't as this is the Coronavirus thread.

Once again, i never accused you of "not giving a hoot" about the virus, i was referring to the UK governments mismanagement of the whole Covid-19 issue, and added that if i lived almost seven thousand miles away i probably wouldn't give a hoot either.

People seem to take offence that i care about people who are dying with other viruses, i've said before that those families who have someone who has died through contracting the Coronavirus has my sympathies but others are being totally ignored as if they don't matter even though they are dying in greater numbers.

Meanwhile back at the ranch...............

Some folk are just completing their third week in isolation and those people considered to be in the groups most vulnerable have received the letter from the PM. Many are already saying the content has upset them as it sets out severe restrictions on what they can and can't do. I fully anticipate that we will all experience greater restrictions on our freedoms at time goes on. Every day there is a new appeal, usually by camera phone, from individuals, groups, organisations, business, etc saying what about me/us. Sadly I think the wheels are starting to come off, the initial reporting of "good society" stories has given way to mumps, groans and grumps. Hardlines, when we are only weeks into what will be months (many months) of all this.

A wonderful tribute to a woman who sadly is barely known in her hometown.

"A temporary hospital set up in Glasgow in a bid to control the coronavirus outbreak has been named after Sister Louisa Jordan, who died while on active service in Serbia during WWI"

Sad to say, I've never heard of her. A bit like most towns in Spain have a street named after Alexander Fleming but I don't recall any such tribute in UK. I would like to hear differently, if anyone can correct me.
