My local Hero was our old teacher Mrs. McTaggart in Hawthorn primary school possilpark.
she was a hard woman who pulled no punches, but she was also an excellent teacher who
used to spend hours teaching me my tables, because i was a bit slow.
She must be dead now as she was quite old in the 1970's but she has left a lasting impression
in my mind, and that is a good teacher.

Any of you remember her?
