Jimmy I saw the Boca game that was the 25th, it wasnt much of a game, but certainly better than the thrashing ManUtd gave us, and even they didnt play that well.
I will be at the Casino Wed for the CL game, I dont miss any Celtic games!

Hi Jock, I must say the point about the colour scheme crossed my mind quite a bit when re-designing. The original colour scheme of the GG site is based on Glasgow being the 'dear green place'.

Having said that, I'm looking at ways of building in an option so that members who prefer a slightly different colour scheme -- say, for instance, those who like the colours of the French flag -- can have those colours on the boards.

Stay tuned for more on this a bit later...

Martin.

P.S.

Found this entertaining report on the Celtic v Boca game:

Glasgow Celtic 1, Boca Juniors 0

Friday, July 25, 2003

(07-25) 20:19 PDT CLEVELAND (AP) --

Chris Sutton scored in the 59th minute to give Glasgow Celtic a 1-0 victory over Boca Juniors in an international soccer match featuring two of the world's top teams Friday night.

It was the first non-NFL sporting event at Cleveland Browns Stadium, which opened in 1999. Celtic fans took over the Dawg Pound at one end of the field and cheered loudly as Sutton scored.

"There were a lot of our fans from all over the continent here and it feels very good to reward them with a victory," Celtic coach Martin O'Neill said.

The game featured feisty play as Boca Juniors midfielder Jonathan Fabbro was ejected in the 81st minute when he received his second yellow card. Boca Juniors drew six of the nine yellows issued in the exhibition game.

"Teams from Scotland are known for tough, physical play," Boca Juniors coach Carlos Bianchi said. "Both sides played to win. The ejection was an accident that happened during play."

O'Neill agreed, saying that Fabbro was "unlucky" to have been sent off and that the game really was not overly physical.

Sutton's patience in the penalty area was rewarded on the only goal.

Winger Shaun Maloney made a run down the left side and passed to Sutton directly in front of the goal. Sutton trapped the ball, spun and delivered a precise shot from 16 yards out.

Boca Juniors of Argentina recently won the Copa Libertadores -- South America's most prestigious club competition -- for the third time in four years. Celtic finished second in the Scottish League last year, losing the title on goal differential to cross-town rival Rangers on the last day of the season.

Boca Juniors was a late replacement for AC Milan, which backed out of the match in late June.

Martin I love the colours too and I think the " Dear Green Place" explanation is great and appropriate. I was just trying to cause trouble Since Celtic is currently playing here in the U.S.
