Can anyone remember playing with stilts when they were wee ? This wis a great toy especially if yer parents didnae have much money. Awe ye needed wis 2 big long bits of wid wae 2 small bits. ye hammered the wee bits roughly aboot 10-12 inches up stood them up straight jumped on and away ye went. They wir great apart fae looking like a bit a clown. Ye used tae feel aboout 10 feet tall. God help ye though if ye stood on some poor buggers feet. I used tae get in tae big trouble fir walking aboot in the hoose with them. My maw used tae shout ye'll hiv the wumen below chapping up. Git ootside and play with them and watch ye dont faw doon the stairs. When ma kids wir wee ma Da made them stilts tae play with oot the back. Hif tae say they didnae pay much attention tae them. Too interested in Super Mario computer games at the time. If parents could revert kids back tae all the old games we could save oorselves a fortune. Ye got just as much pleasure fae hand made toys as wit kids get noo fae expensive yins.

We had 2 pair of stilts and when we moved, we left them with our neighbours grandkids. Often wondered what happened to them. Mary

Hi Andy. Yeh I remember the auld tin cans with the string. We used to use the Tennants can with the pin up girls but they were rubbish. They used to squash all the time. The best cans were Heins beans or the auld blue Kitty Kat tins.

Not quite sue how tae work the boards properly yet. Still a novice. ohmy.gif

Jist good tae see ye posting. Sadly, too many immediately seem to lose their powers of communication. There's only one way to do it - and your going about it the right way wink.gif
