  Alan a great source for this kind of information will be The Mitchell Library, either in person or online. They have a History and Glasgow Room, as well as street directories going right back in time. Extremely helpful!

  My mother was born at 37 carfin street in aug 1935.

Her mother didnt live there and she delivered in the home
of the reid family. When i visited there a few
years ago, although 37 was long gone there
was a health center there. Was there some
kind of clinic or surgery on carfin street or even
a midwife ?
