Know how you feel Norrie, I love photography especially wildlife and SA is the best place for that. Now that I have retired I spend as much time up in the various reserves as I can. Fortunately my wife loves animals (probably why she married me) laugh.gif keep up the good work. Have you looked at "Cambridge in colour" great amateur site where they have competitions with no prizes but you get good feedback from like minded people around the world, I`ve won a few of them and it gives you a boost.

Hi Zascot, not heard of that web site, some friends have said to me why don't I post some photos on this or that site, to be honest I take photo's of Glasgow every week and sometimes its a job to catch up and post them on to the web, I am trying to get all of 2014 photo's posted before year ends

I will add that site to my bookmarks and check it out later

You take shots of animals, I cant get them to stay still but I have caught a few shots of Herons on the Clyde and Kelvin, need the zoom as they fly away if you get too close
Do you take shots of Lions etc? I would have camera shake biggrin.gif

Bye for now, norrie

Hi Norrie, Our parks here are enormous, the Kruger Park is bigger than Wales and all the animals are wild and the authorities don`t interfere with nature. They kill each other for food and are not fed if the don`t succeed. I have a Canon 7D with a canon 100-400 telephoto which I use in the reserve mostly. We ahve a reserve about 200km from us which is 26 km in diameter so somtime you go for a week and see dozens of lions, elephant,Rhino etc other times you see little. Here is one I took last month, fortunately I have a 4X4 so I can get most places in the park. It1s only email quality about 60kb but the original is 8mb

Hi Norrie let me know what you think of the site once you have found your way around and tried it out. Read an article on photographing snow scenes last night and after about half an hour I wondered what the hell I was wasting my time on, perhaps we will get a white Christmas and it will have been worth the time spent though the weatherman says it will be around 30 deg C, still he has been wrong before laugh.gif

Hi folk, check this out, I was involved in this project about 2 years ago and this is the first time I have seen anything from it, not so sure of the close ups of me
The older Gorbals photos I borrowed from Ron Smith, the others are mine
