Good to see that's the one!

Sorry matt.63, for legal reasons I can't reveal my sources, but its not the VM. Let's just say that I have an extensive Glasgow book collection.

GG.

Hudggy, do you remember the lane that ran up the side of the Endrick, we called it the 'showgie '. Apparently the name came from the days when a show ground was held in the spare ground at the top of the lane. It was on the wall running up the showgie that we played doublers as the wall was nice and smooth. We played rounders on the spare ground at the top.

Hi AGNES & ROBERT,

Remember it well used to be the easiest to skip in to. Just creep under the cash desk on the right hand wall after entering along a bit into boys toilet on the other side. Through them and there was a door into the hall never asked for a ticket coming out of there.

Regards Hudggy

I came down the Garscube Road just about a month ago. I did not recognise any street as they are all in ruins.

As I came down near the Cowcaddens, I saw a road cutting off and named Corn Street but it is not where the old Corn Street used to be as it was on the left hand side now the renamed street is on the right hand side.
There is an underpass being built down from where I think the Phoenix Park swings used to be.

All very changed from my childhood days.
