Stealing cables is a big industry here Ash.
Before I retired our company land lines were stolen so often we gave them up and switched to mobile numbers.
Two weeks ago I read of over one million Rands worth of solar panels being stolen from a government roof.
Hard to believe a few years ago they stole the entire electrical pylon standing over one hundred feet high and left the main cables hanging.
The old joke years ago was that the Formula one teams were being sent to South Africa to learn how to remove tires faster.
Our thieves are the fastest in the world.

On my firestick looking for something worth watching and found two Scots detective series that looked promising.
First one was Shetland about a detective in the Shetland Islands. Managed to watch one and a half episodes before giving up. Draggy, slow uninterseting characters.
Second one was Loch I think based in Inverness about a female detective. Halfway through the first episode I gave up. The story line was far to slow.

Whats that, a tin of Russian soup?
Mind you I could probably get one easier than you could. An AK47 would be even easier to get.

Aw Dave, Shetland is a great series and very popular across the UK. Don't know the other one though.

I have watched all the Shetland series, have to agree with Dave, it is depressing and all the characters look like their dog has just died.

I don't know the other one either.

I think it's been produced to mimic "Scandinavian noir". Whilst I couldn't get into the scandi stuff I thought the acting and plot lines were good in Shetland.

I sideloaded an IPTV app called Typhoon tv. Theres a show Ive put on my favourites called Line of Duty.
Excellent I watched the first series and there are four more to go.
Cant watch normal tv anymore much prefer it when I can stop and start an episode to suit myself.

I'm watching an old Andre Rieu concert from Venice, he was due to play Glasgow next month!
I saw him a few years back and still remember one of his quips "I go to sleep every night
dreaming of Glasgow" He asked the audience if they were all from Glasgow knowing full well
his fans came from all over Scotland.

Out of curiosity I looked up people who at one time were prolific posters on the board.

The majority who stopped posting seemed to be involved in arguements with other members.
These are people with over 1000 post each before they seem to have given up.

Pity.
