This is my brother and me in the swingpark at the bottom of Colgrain Street in May 1956. My grandparents lived in Bilsland Drive opposite Ruchill Park.

God I remember that swing. Ye used tae dae a worky uppy oan it. Stayed in Cromer Street at the time. Many many fond memories of growing up there in the 70's.

I remember this swing park, would have been early sixties. Stayed in Curzon St, I remember this park had the highest "shute" I had ever seen, took me a long time to build up the courage to go down the thing, if I remember right the railway line was right behind it. then Ruchill golf course, I do remember kids stealing balls and selling them back to the golfers, the first hole was over the hill, not me of course!!!

I had hundreds of relatives that stayed in RUCHILL.There was stevie & mary costello, jean & tommy divers, frank & theresa owens.Tommy and jean stayed in shannon street and they all had big families.does anyone know any of them ? smile.gif

My pal when I was in my teens was Jean Crawford she lived in Ruchill St,she married Pat Cairns, he used to sing I hear that one of their sons also sings

anyone know my dad's uncle Peter Martin? he was the
gaffer in the cooperage in Ruchill & I think his brother Jim
Martin also worked there.

I used to live in 257 Ruchill Street, went to school with Carole divers, knew her brother Gerry and his wife Carole, both passed away , God bless them. now live in curzon Stree, Ruchill

Pat Cairns Jnr sings, I know his uncle, Chancy Crawford, Jean's brother, I used to live across the street from him, in Kilmun Street, we both moved out a year ago, as Kilmun Street is to be demolished
