This isn’t really a joke, but I think it is apt for this forum.

Many years ago when I was a DIY enthusiast, I went to the Barras in Glasgow to a supplier of electrical components for electrical home appliances. As I entered the shop, a man pushed passed me. He was obviously disgruntled about something.

He went up to the counter and complained,

“Ah bought this timer switch in here aboot six months ago. It is no workin. Ah was given a lifetime guarantee”.

The man behind the counter replied with an expressionless face,

“You are too late. The wan that sold ye it, is deid”.

My army training told me to get out quick!
