It is with Martin’s blessing that I am informing fellow GG friends that my sequel to ‘What’s For Ye, Won’t Go By Ye’ titled ‘Chasin’ that Carrot’ was published in October 2008. Christmas sales of both books went through the roof on Amazon, quite a few Waterstones Stores in Glasgow and London sold out within a couple of days and had to re-order up to three times in the last weeks before Christmas.

As many of you know, by comments on my ‘What’s For Ye, Won’t Go By Ye’ topic, I self-published my first novel because as an unknown author at the time, I found it practically impossible to get my book into print, although publishers gave me lots of encouragement! (I have to make it clear at this point that I didn’t physically self-publish, I handed my work over to a publishing company and paid them to proof read, edit, design, typeset, print, publish and set the price).

Due to the popularity of my first novel, my second one attracted immediate interest from publishing companies who offered to finance everything, the result was that I signed an excellent contract with a publisher in Kent in September 2008 and the rest is history.

Who said that it doesn’t pay to get yourself noticed by self-publishing your first book? I can thoroughly recommend this method to new authors.

Details of both books can be seen on the link below.

Finally I would like to thank the loyal members on Glasgow Guide who showed the real Glasgow Spirit by standing by me, encouraging and believing in me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support.

Teeheehee, thankyou for your very kind words.

Marion, thank you for all your encouragement. I hope you have managed to find the book, it's frustrating when you move house and you can't remember which boxes you put things in.

Betty, thank you for purchasing both my books, I am delighted that you enjoyed my first book, I hope that you will find the sequel every bit as enjoyable.

Heather, thank you so much for your interest in my books, it means a lot to me.

Stratson, thank you for posting details of where my books can be purchased.

And thankyou all once more for your support and taking the time to post, I very much appreciate it

Thank you Dizzybint & Nelli, I always appreciate feedback.

Dizzybint, I would be more than happy to advise and help a fellow Glaswegian get their book into print. It's such a satisfying experience to walk into Waterstones and see your book on the shelf. I have had hundreds of letters and emails from folk all around the world telling me how much they have related to and enjoyed both my books, this makes all my efforts worthwhile hence the reason I have bowed to requests to complete the trilogy, I am working on book No. 3 now smile.gif

Just get in touch with me when you are ready Dizzybint and I will help point you in the right direction, good luck with your writing, follow that dream! X
