It's the start of a new football season, one which I hope you will all enjoy. To mark this happy occasion, and because hubert's original 'Old Firm' topic now has 11,000+ posts, I am starting a new topic with the same title. I believe that posters have generally done yourselves proud in the original Old Firm topic, however, there is always room to improve.

If you wish to post in this new topic, please read the rules below first, which are in addition to the general board rules. By posting, you acknowledge and confirm that you are taking full responsibility for the content and consequences of your post.

OLD FIRM TOPIC RULES

1. Do not post when you are drunk, tipsy or have been drinking.
2. Do not post when you are feeling angry, annoyed or aggrieved.
3. Do not post messages or PMs with sectarian or bigoted terms.
4. Review your post before posting; think if it could offend someone.
5. Respect your fellow board members at all times.
6. Do not try to 'put-down', 'wind-up' or humiliate anyone.
7. Do not think that putting a smilie after invective cancels it out.
8. Reasonable criticism of a team is allowed, but must be measured.
9. Do not think that you are posting 'anonymously'.
10. Do use the 'Report' button to report a contentious post.

What is a bigot? From Wikipedia:

"A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs. The predominant usage in modern English refers to persons hostile to those of differing race, ethnicity, religion or spirituality, nationality, inter-regional prejudice, gender and sexual orientation ..."

Therefore, a healthy football rivalry is fine, but not if it is used as a vehicle for bigoted behaviour.

Remember that laws are already in place to prosecute offensive posters on the Internet; please do not put yourself at risk. Instead, do Glasgow proud, and help us demonstrate that we are citizens of a tolerant, progressive and caring city.

"We're a' Jock Tamson's Bairns"

Pity the old thread had to be cancelled, however its understandable, as explained.
Halftime Rangers 0 Hearts 1.
Good game both teams fairly even and playing well, give Hearts a slight edge on plat and more shots on goal.
Of course theres another half play and I expect Rangers to come out attacking.

Rangers 1 Hearts 1 final score!
Rangers were the better team in the second half but Hearts managed to hold them out to a draw!

Hearts could have by a long shot had this game buried in the first half.
In my opinion, not a great game by all means.
A draw was a fair result.
But are Hearts a serious threat to Celtic or Rangers?

Thought it wasnt a bad game . I agree a draw was fair. A bit too early to say if Hearts can challenge but I think they showed promise. Cheers

Hopefully you are right Irrie, as the SPL for sure needs one or two teams to make a stand.
Well done to Hearts, Jim Jefferies would be elated at coming to Ibrox and getting a draw.

mellow.gif Strange not to see Mr. McCoist in the dug out/trackside but suited and booted in the stand with the big wigs. I wonder if this means he's not gonna be a hands on manager?

The radio phone-in I listened to after the game had fans bleating about McCoist watching from the stand. I wonder if they would have been complaining if their team had won. tongue.gif

BTW I totally support GGs new rules. Lets have good banter, slagging etc so long as it is light-hearted.
