One of my earliest memories of books was one about dragons and fairies. I must have been about 5 or 6 and remember reading it in bed most nights. I can't recall the name of the book but it was all about magic and magical creatures.
Around the same time I had to go into hospital to have my tonsils out and I remember being taken down to the theatre weapped in a red blanket and a nurse telling me I was going to see the fairies. When the op. was over, my mother told me I was really cross and having a tantrum because they woke me up and I hadn't seen the fairies as I had been promised.
