Snow, sleet, rain you named it we have it all today and really cold as well.

When I was out this morning I was walking baby steps as I was worried I would fall. ohmy.gif

What did I do today, precious little I have to say. Snowy sleety this morning but a trip to Tesco for cat litter was necessary, then onto Boots the chemist for something or another for wife. Snowing quite heavily now though, dread seeing what tomorrow will be like. I have a long single track road to my house which often gets blocked with snow. Anyway, got my snow shovel and wellies out of the shed so all ready for action, gotta get it cleared whatever as I'm working tomorrow night, not good!

I have never know a wind as strong as it is today.
I was getting blown backwards then forwards, it was terrible, sometimes I had to hold on to a fence to stop getting blown away.

The house around the corner from us has a big tree blown down, it is hanging over the fence on to the pavement. I'm surprised none of the tree's around us have been blown down.

What a day, sunshine then snow then sunshine.

The snow was coming down thick and fast five minute's ago, now the sun is shining again.

I had to laugh at the black dress Kate the Duchess of Cambridge was pictured wearing.
Apparently it is a designer dress and cost 450 pounds.
I usually like her style, but that dress looks like something out the bargain basement and not worth 50 never mind 450.

spent most of this morning in the kitchen , I made a batch of soda scones on the grill , I enjoy one fried with breakfast's over the weekend , also some muffins and I found a new recipe for treacle scones , will try that later, also
I made up a small batch of hamburgers now in the freezer and supper tonight will be , chicken with a stir-fry and also rice .

the weather looks nice today but there is a very cold wind and the temp. is around -4'cel. but that is much warmer than it has been , maybe it is a January thaw tongue.gif anyway I'm off now to the Pharmacy to pick up a couple of prescriptions .

Been an anxious day. My daughter in law is in labour but things are moving a bit slowly. She may be induced. Heard a little while ago that she has been taken to the delivery suite, so fingers crossed. I am hoping I might have my fourth grandchild by morning.

LOL, Heather. I've not been hiding but been really busy with grandchildren and also meeting up with lots of new "friends" for coffee and cake. We have got some local network going here that has really taken off and resulting in little groups of people meeting up in town during the day or out for meals in the evening. It's great, just spending time getting to know other people with similar interests and of similar age. I can talk for England and Scotland most of the time. I have been on here, reading mostly, if not posting as much.

Not been drinking hardly at all since before Christmas. I haven't given up, like some people who are having a dry January, it is just that I would rather eat cake than drink wine, lol.

Mind you, I have a bottle of champagne chilling, as I write, ready to celebrate this evening should we get some good news. It seems to be dragging on a bit though, poor love.

Well we got to drink the champagne as my grandson was born yesterday afternoon after a long labour. He is in high dependency unit due to traumatic birth and his mum is also being kept in. Hopefully all will be fine.
