Tomorrow morning we have our usual St. Andrew's Day Mass. After Mass we go into the hall for a buffet breakfast to celebrate St. Andrews Day. Our Priests have been doing this for abour 5 years now.

It's always held the nearest Saturday to the 30th, to give more people the chance of taken part in the Mass and celebration of our Patron Saint of Scotland

Saint Andrews day will be upon us this weekend, i wondered if it means anything of significance to anyone anymore, i know we have a lot of ex pats on the site and myself having siblings who moved to Canada in the 50s they seemed to have became more patriotic the longer they lived abroad, was this a way of keeping there identity or just plain homesickness, since the Scottish Goverment came into being we actually get a day off work for it , so i suppose thats something to celebrate, also the the goverment have instructed that Historic Scotland allow free entry this weekend to all there properties , this includes Edinburgh Castle (usually 11 entry in winter , 13 in summer)also Stirling Castle(normally 9)so lets see if we proud Scots take any notice of this offer, or are we no interested anymore in the Willie Wallace , Rab the Bruce stuff

Although I don't wave the Scottish flag from my window, I love this country. My family are going to Edinburgh this weekend, whether the sun is shining or pouring from the heavens.
