Hi Tomi

Your post says it all. As one of the main culprits engaged in this shootout, I hold my hands up (put the gun away!) and plead guilty. No excuses.

I have an appointment today, so I will have to leave it until later today to submit a post which I alluded to a couple of days ago. I think it is relevant to Scottish Independence. I am hoping that your post will prompt responses to my post, if any, which are relevant to the issue being discussed.

From a personal point of view, thank you for the kick up the backside.

Best regards

Danny Harris

3 years ago today the people in Scotland voted NO.

Some of us woke up happy, some sighed and moved on while others woke up greeting and haven't stopped wink.gif

Yes Tomi, I agree with your sentiment. However, the ones who missed the golden opportunity are the leaders of the SNP.

They still haven't woken up to the fact that a referendum, as distinct from a parliamentary election, deals with only ONE ISSUE.

The question being asked was, 'Do you want Scotland to be an independent country?

Answer, YES or NO.

The SNP now have changed the rules. For them, a vote of YES to the above question means you are also voting for Scotland to become a member of the EU.

The proof of this clear for all to see. When the results of the EU referendum were announced, the SNP proclaimed that this meant Scotland wanted Independence from the UK. So once again, the SNP are showing naivety when it comes to politics.

Look at the number of seats they lost during the last General Election, including Alec Salmond's, the mastermind behind the Scottish Independence strategy. He is now in the entertainment industry, where he rightly belongs. The people of Scotland aren't as gullible as is being made out. We know a comedian from a politician.

Most definitely, just as others would have thought 'Scotland' made the right decision and averted financial suicide.
What I find most odd though is those who shook their heads in disbelief at the result on that day but also did the same when the UK voted to leave the UK. Now while there are people who becry that the EU does not hold as much power over Scotland as Westminster, give it time. Junckers state of the Union speech, his EU army, less Vetoes, EU expansion, one President and adoption of the Euro for all members. In a few years we'll all look back and be glad we left that power grabbing behemoth.

John, I would have loved to have seen Scotland taking her place in the world (and Great Britain and the EU tongue.gif ) as a completely independent Sovereign Nation ... was that so bad?

At least this didn't happen prior to Scotlands Referendum ...
