Does anyone else remember Beatties, the playing fields near to Park Circus? My and my friends used to play there all the time in the 70s at tennis and building tree-houses in there. I saw it recently and it has been left to rot now. All overgrown with trees and bushes. Is it the Council who owned it? Anyone know? Also how come it was called Beatties?

Wasn`t there a Beatties Bakery, I remember you could buy a Beatties loaf.

Yes there was a Beatties Bakery but I am not so sure that was why it was called that.
