My dear friends, since I left Glasgow back in1969, in order to follow my parents who had decided to emigrate to Italy, where I presently live, I was wondering if anyone could help me out in getting hold of a ST. JUDES PRIMARY SCHOOL BADGE or TIE I am talking of course of the Barlanark School of 29 Garvel Crescent, Glasagow. Many thanks in advance for whatever help or information you will be able to provide. Regards, Mario

Hallo Mario. Just a thought....if you Google St Jude's there are contact details. Why not phone them or write to them..............they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi Mario, you may find it difficult to get the badge and tie as St. Jude's School no longer exists.

A new Catholic primary school called Our Lady of Peace, replaced St Jude's Primary where houses are currently being built.

I lived in Barlanark from April 1953 and I can remember the first St. Jude's School being built at the bottom of Blyth Road. My youngest sister went there and I was married in St. Jude's Chapel.

A whole bunch of us who were teenagers when we moved to Barlanark, were among the first Sunday Collectors for the Chapel before it was built and we attended St. Paul's Chapel in Shettleston Road.

I no longer live in Barlanark but if you write to the school or find an email address, I'm sure they will be pleased to hear from a former pupil.
