Hi Margie, I know Bishopbriggs well, I lived in Milton and went to the park and cinema in the town
When I was in my teens I wandered around the then new housing in the Jellyhill area 3000 for a bungalow, it was a dream that never happened , no matter I ended up is Scotstoun, EK, Kings Park and now Rutherglen, semi Bungalow and a wee bit dearer than 3000, no doubt the 3000 bungalow is still well out of my reach

Bye for now, norrie

Hi Grace I am sure that was the price 1961?, it was still dear, that was in the days if you earned 1000 a year you were doing well, know I wasn't earning a 1000 a year by the time I served my Apprenticeship

Bye for now, norrie

Norris, you're right about the house price (Even if you were wrong about the name tongue.gif ). My father took me with him when he went there to dig the garden of distant relatives who had bought one of the houses. 3000 was the figure mentioned (a lot!!). Wonder what ever happened to the McKenna's?

Hi Margie, no, not my first but at the time she was the one, alas she dumped me, asked me back again and I dropped a girl I was going with, then she asked me to dump her. Young love biggrin.gif
After all that I met my now wife, I was 17 she was 16, next thing I know my ex wanted me back, too late twice bitten and all that
Sad thing was we never spoke again, even when we were on the same bus, was it me not wanting to be enticed back or her mad at me not wanting her, who knows but I have never forgotten her and have never head a word about he since then
Anyway my wife and I were 50 years married last year, I believe in fate and things are meant to happen

Bye for now, Norrie

Hi Norrie, Funny how we always remember our first love, mine emigrated to Australia and by sheer coincidence met Possilboy over there and they became friends, then I met my hubby we would have celebrated our golden wedding in September 2016 but unfortunately he passed away 5 months before. The family still make jokes about it and say he saved a fortune on celebrating lol. Congrats to you and your wife, there,s not many in this day and age can achieve 50 years of marriage. cheers Margie.
