Looks like something ah used tae park ma barra in, when I worked in Nottingham Fruit Market! lol rolleyes.gif

From there, I was re-introduced tae the Scottish Education System - for all of two weeks - (so that I could 'officially' leave) - before taking a job as a commis waiter in the Gay Gordon Restaurant in Royal Exchange Square (no longer there I know), and then Guy's in Hope Street (ditto).

Then I 'shot the craw' again! lol

Y' see up in the corner above the wardrobe in the big room, where the wall paper is a wee bit tatty? That's where I put the mini camera. laugh.gif

So you had to do two weeks schooling under the Scottish Education System to enable you to officially leave the Nottingham Fruit Market to become a waiter in a gay restaurant in the Royal Exchange Square (which is no longer there) before going to some guys on Hope Street? rolleyes.gif
You poor bugger.
(Where is the Royal Exchange Square now anyway?)

Thats EXACTLY whit ma auld chemistry teacher shouted at me, bilbo - when he gripped me by the ear, oan Queen Street! Your no him, urr ye? lol Ah wiz no even 16 then - bit ah hud applied fur Langside College (and wiz actually accepted!)
He gave me a right shirricking - and of course, knowing whit a know now, he was absolutely - WRONG!

I used to agree with him - until I finally earned my English GCSE, in 1991 at RAF Muharraq, Bahrain (better late than never biggrin.gif). I did kind of get the hang of learning being a lifelong thing, though - earning an HND Electronics, & then a City & Guilds in Learning and Development in 2003.

So,... all in all, the wee man didnae dae too bad fer himself (in the end).
Jist because ye don't crack it when yer a youngster - disnae mean ye huv tae finish up oan the scrap heap - ask Duncan Bannatyne!
(Although ah thankfully didnae dae any time fer nearly wastin any officer commanding's' - though it wiz a close run thing, a couple ai times! laugh.gif

(I toyed wi the idea of seeing if ah could get wan ai them mortar boards, last year - bit wiz told ah'd huv tae pay full whack - so fer jist anither Cert to hing oan the wall, I'll give it a miss, in favour of keeping warm, thank you very much!)

I still intend posting my thoughts about this issue - regardless of 'Quali's'!

Most here, huv been through the University of Life, and deserve respect & acclaim for it - even if all they have to show for it, are used electric & gas bills LOL

John Smith Bookshops and Stationers at Kent Road, at the same time working for FW Woolworth Ltd (when it was just changing from American owners). Also a wee number in a swimming club, so there were 3 jobs held in total and I would leave one at 5 and go to the next one, and the next.

Got fed up trying to make a living holding down three jobs, so decided to look for something involving driving and ended up in the Funeral profession.....not in that now....it was too dead end.................................argh...

My first job was as an apprentice joiner in Fairfields Govan. I hated it with a vengance. We used to go to a wee lavey to have a smoke, as smoking was forbidden in the yards. Billy connely worked oppisite me in the sheet iron and smitthy shed. It was like Dantes inferno but you were not allowed to smoke there either. Billy C. used to smoke in the lavey and he always had his hand in his pocket. Daen things? I thought he was playing with him self but he was writing down all the joke we told for future referece.
And he called ME big Wullie!!!

My first job was as an office junior for a punch tape /computer company in Blythswood Square. The computer was the size of the whole room, and there was a punch tape pool room full of girls who I had to be a little slave to as well.

I had to do all the usual carp jobs, filing, photocopying etc, as well as work the switchboard for £4.10 a week. Nobody had actually shown me how to use the switchboard yet, so when I was thrown in at the deep end one lunchtime when the receptionist went out, I cut the Boss off twice during an important conversation.,..it's the only job I've ever been sacked from. laugh.gif
