I have read some o the nonsense being spouted on this thread the day, my god the gullible ,the tunnel visioned came tae mind ,dae you think fer wan minute if you were in trouble like some o they cancer sufferers you read aboot unable tae get treatment which is there tae cure them if they were able tae supply the funds ,were tae appeal tae any member o the Adams family fer help it wid be granted if yer answer is yes then god help you .

The poorest (and the dumbest) in the U.S.A. voted Trump. As with the poorest and (the ....) in the U.K. will happily contribute to the ivory towers required for the "monarch " and her never ending siblings to live in the lap of ostentatious luxury.

Buckingham Palace to get £369m [publicly-funded] refurbishment

uckingham Palace is to undergo a 10-year refurbishment costing the taxpayer £369m, the Treasury has announced.

The Queen will remain in residence during the work, to begin next April.
Ageing cables, lead pipes, wiring and boilers will be replaced, many for the first time in 60 years, amid fears about potential fire and water damage.

Tony Johnstone-Burt, Master of the Queen's Household, said phased works offered the "best value for money" while keeping the palace running.

The Royal Trustees, who include the prime minister and chancellor, recommended that the works be funded by a temporary increase in the Sovereign Grant.

The grant - which this year totalled nearly £43m - is 15% of the profits from the independent property business Crown Estates, which go to the Treasury.

The trustees say the grant should rise to 25% of the profits for the repairs. This would require MPs' approval. [...]

It seems like years ago now but the cases of five people who were nabbed by the polis for alleged nonsense have come to court and they have all admitted disorder at Kelvingrove.

I agree, Davy. The scheduled event would have been classed as "organised" and definitely "Licensed" and an open air cinema can hardly be classed the same as an unscheduled facebook party ... which had the PM's blessin' anyway. rolleyes.gif

Pathetic,... totally pathetic. This, presumably was an organised public event and as such, surely would have been able to have been licensed? ie. proper beer tents etc?

I take it all back England is NOT the most draconian of places when it comes to outdoor events - and the licensing thereof.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the wedding party in the park a Facebook 'organised' one???

Kelvingrove outdoor cinema plans scrapped after 'royal wedding' chaos

An outdoor cinema event due to take place in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park has been cancelled after an unlicensed party last month led to alcohol-fuelled violence.

The Grosvenor Cinema in the city’s Ashton Lane intended to host a four-day event at the end of next month. However, after the council stated no alcohol could be sold, the event - sponsored by an drinks company - was axed.

A statement on the cinema’s website read: "The Grosvenor is sad to announce that in the light of the recent unlicensed and unscheduled event in Kelvingrove Park during the Royal wedding, Grosvenor Cinema in the Park outdoor film screenings will not be going ahead.

"Discussions with Glasgow City Council's Land & Environmental Services this week indicated that Grosvenor Cinema in the Park, which was due to run over four evenings in Kelvingrove Park from June 23rd to 26th, could only go ahead on the proviso that no alcohol be sold at the event.

"As the event's principal sponsor was a drinks brand, reluctantly The Grosvenor has been forced to cancel Grosvenor Cinema in the Park."
