Trying to remember the name and/or location of a men's hostel that lay someplace between Parkhead and the city centre. My mum can remember walking past it as a child and seeing lots of men gathered on the steps outside. Any ideas?

Ask and ye shall receive! Cheers guys, mum reckons (after a quick shifty at Street View) that it might be the Bellgrove Hotel but there may have been another building with steps nearby where the men sat. Hard to tell when everything around it has been demolished...then again, what hasn't been

There was a "moadel" {hostel} in Suffolk St,that`s right at the Barras, then there was Roses Home on the corner of Craignestock St and London Rd.That`s halfway beyween Bridgeton cross and Glasgow Cross.

If your Ma can remember it as a child, it probably wasn`t James Duncan House in Bell St. One block west of Morrisons (Gallowgate), and right behind the fire station/block with Phoenix Bar on one end and Hoops Bar on the other.
When built thirty year ago, fire station wasn`t there, so more visible from Gallowgate. Went under the wrecking ball lately. Might find clip on Youtube. Might jog her memory.

I have no idea what it was called ,but when I went to Charlotte St. School there used to be a lot of old men that used to come around and watch all the girls .
