Before I went to Australia in 1961,I went in to the Lindsaymaid factory ,somewhere near Milnbank St ,up off Alexandra Pde near Wills cigarette factory, and I bought a wee coat for each of my toddlers. We arrived in Winter so they really needed these lovely wee tweedy coats.

One of the Lindsays of Lindsay Maid was related through marriage to cousins of mine, Cochranes who came from Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Does anyone have any information about her or her family?

My gran Marie Alexis worked there for 30 years I think, she did hand smocking girls dresses and had a lot of Outworkers.
