can anyone tell me if i will be entitled to a pension having worked in the UK for some 9 years or so then moving to the USA and becoming a Citizen will i be entitled to a pension and what can i expect to get

I was told that I was ineligible for a U.K. pension having only worked for 9 years before leaving. I believe the case is in excess of 10 years I.E.11 Years before qualifying. Maybe wrong, but it was certainly the case when I inquired on reaching retirement age.
