[attachment=51469:StanleyBaxter1953.jpg]Hello Glasgow.

I was a wee boy working at the Fortingall Hotel when I met Stanley Baxter who was on his honeymoon in 1953. He gave me his photograph and autograph with his catch phrase: "if ye want me thingnme ring me." from his radio show. I would like to contact him before it's too late for both of us. Any help Glasgow? Thanks. Alastair in Victoria, BC

I just loved Stanley Baxter’s TV shows, especially Parliamo Glasgow. That must have been the early 70s?

Do you remember
“Izzy affeez” - Izzy affeez bloomin heid
“Yeez’ll hufty ” - Yeez’ll hufty move yer seats (This was actually shouted at us in a mobbed lounge bar at the Crowwood Hotel
“No hoozfurra” - No hoozfurra wee cuppa tea
“Gonny geeza” - Gonny geeza brekk, hen

I wish I could remember more, but it’s so funny to hear these being used. 🤣

My earliest memory of SB would be in early 50s on the radio with Jimmy Logan but I was fortunate to see him live in HM Theatre, Aberdeen in 1970/71. John Grieve was also in the show.

Did he do any of his Parliamo then?

I'm sure that was Rikki Fulton Taurus.

No, I’m with Taurus. Stanley Baxter did his “wummin” dancing, too. But, Taurus, I don’t remember him having lovely legs?

I remember his made-up face more than the dancing, but he did his lady dancing.💃🏻
