Granddaughter said to me "I bought a metal straw and feel so basic."
When I told her I didn't understand what she meant I was told thats because your old school.

Translation: I bought a reusable straw and feel so average

Yir no' hip Dave tongue.gif It would be hard to miss the recent furore about plastic straws and the bun fight to find a suitable replacement. McDonald's introduced a paper version that they quickly binned (pun intended)as they couldn't be recycled.

I know this might seem a bit radical, but has anybody thought about cutting out the middle man and just drinking straight from the glass or bottle huh.gif

Watching something on TV and I see Gerry McCann walking up to be interviewed by a TV reporter and was struck by how much he looks like Dave King.
Same walk, both dress the same same furtive look as if they would rather be anywhere else at that time.
Im sure they have other things in common but cant imagine what they could be. wink.gif

Dave, yours look pretty much like mine. TBH, I no longer look in the mirror (except when shaving) and care little what others think of my fashion sense. I don't get the current style of men wearing shoes without socks though wacko.gif

My granddaughter got all excited last week when she saw herself in the mirror when I was shaving.
"look granda im nearly the same size as you now."
She's 13 and will probably end up taller than me, im 5'9.
Are you sure the men are not wearing socks ash. They are probably wearing ankle socks that just cover the heel and in a lot of cases cant be seen. I have four pair of them.

This morning I had the most wonderful news in a very long time.

My NZ-born daughter moved to London when she was 21, for a year she said and stayed 29! She came over to NZ in April to celebrate her 50th birthday. Although we see each other every couple of years, I am overjoyed she has finally made the decision to move back home. She has lots of commitments until the end of 2019 but will be winging her way home next March.

Who said Kiwis can't fly?

Dave, the fashion is for no socks. I've got those wee micro-sock things as well (and I use them occasionally) but not with sandals ohmy.gif

Dave, when my grandsons were thrilled to say, " Look, I'm bigger than grandad now" my reply was to inform them that I'm the only person who is not biggeer than me laugh.gif laugh.gif

I see the hypocritical Labour Party want to abolish private schools.
If their really serious about abolishing elitism why dont they abolish royalty and the House of Lords???
