After 10 years good service to Celtic you would have thought they would have offered him more than a one year contract. I dont blame the bloke, hes 31 years of age and probably thought he would end his career with Celtic, and if Sutton and Hartson go I think yous are in the mire mate. wink.gif

I was reading about this today and I think it's very sad that Jackie is leaving, but at the end of the day for him, probably the right move.

It only remains now to see who will all form the Celtic side for next season and I wish we knew now, the suspense is awful.

If Hartson and Sutton stay I still think we are in the mire! LoL
Its no the suspense that kills me its the lack of it?
With our suits its the lack of expense! rolleyes.gif

Since I cant post twice in succession I will add to this.
Scotland have improved 2 places since Smith has taken over, more power to him.
We are now in 83rd spot.

Don.t know too much about him, 29 year old left sided defender, think Strachin wanted him when he was managing Southaampton.

Camara was released by Burnley boss Steve Cotterill at the end of last season after they couldn’t agree terms, this after Camara said he really wanted to continue playing for Burnley.

His form certainly dipped again after it became clear he wasn’t going to sign a deal and it was also at that time that Ipswich made an offer for him. It came as no surprise to see him leave at the end of the season.

There had been talk about a move to Celtic and that finally became the case this evening after he passed his medical this afternoon and Strachan was delighted with his first signing saying, “He’s got pace, he’s got enthusiasm and he’s got experience now.

“Tom O’Neill watched him for a long time last season and Tom put a lot of positive ticks where the ticks were needed. I’ve seen him a few times and think we’ve come to an agreement that if we can sign someone of this quality on a Bosman, we have got to take it.”

Camara said, “The Celtic fans might be saying what is happening if we are signing players from clubs like Burnley. All I can tell them is they have got a hungry player desperate to show the fans and the manager how good he can be.”

Anyhoo I dont know why Camara is in this Scotland team topic thread, however, he is not a good player, and I doubt if he will improve?
Scotland were leading Austria 2-0 at halftime in a friendly, guess what Douglas is put into goal, and poor Scotland end up with a 2-2 draw.
England got clobbered by Denmark 4-1, and the reason I mention them is, Calamity James was their goalie another disaster! LoL

Well Hubert I must say, you're spot on when you mention "Calamity James" I couldn't agree more.

Tomorrow sees the Scotland -v- Italy game at Hampden - a good old Hampden Roar should set the Italianos alight - hope we pull off a good win.

Scotland 1-1 Italy – but Italy only seemed to come into the game within the last half hour or so – the game was very much Scotlands.

We can be very proud of how this side played today. The game was fast moving and terrific entertainment – they did us proud and they did themselves proud – no doubt about it they played well enough to deserve a win over the Italian side!

Well done boys!

Saw a bit of it on TV tonight, what a transformation in a team ,have to hand it to Smiddy and Burns , they have instilled belief. Lets hope it continues.

they are certainly getting something right, great game from everyone on the Scottish team. I anyone had said to me that Smith and Burns could last this long I would never had believed them.
